How it works

After ordering you'll immediately receive a link and access code to the tour system. The activity runs in the browser, on the Spotix platform, with no app to download.

Step out of the box and join a self-guided quest now – a treasure-hunt game in Jerusalem that runs entirely from your mobile phone!

You can play with whoever you like, at your own pace, and start whenever you want – even right now! After many years of specializing in delivering content through experience, in which we create “treasure hunt” style games, we packed our experiential mission game “Discover Jerusalem” into a technological wrapper and made it accessible through your mobile phone!

So how does it work, more or less?

The activity is a little like treasure-hunt / race-to-the-finish games, but on a completely different level of content and quality. During the game you will get to know the areas you wander through in depth, through videos, text and audio clips, and written information available both on your phone and in the field itself, and you will take on exciting missions and questions at various levels. At the end of the activity you will be left with plenty of experiences, discover hidden places in Jerusalem – familiar and unfamiliar – a wealth of souvenir photos and videos from the activity, and even a participation certificate. The winning team is the one that answers as many questions correctly as possible and earns the highest number of points.

Who is the activity suitable for?

For individuals – if you are a small family, a couple, or a few friends, you can purchase a single permit (we recommend one permit per 3 participants so it is not crowded around the phone) and compete against everyone who has already played the game and see your result on the overall leaderboard.

For groups – workplaces, team-building days, groups of friends, birthdays and so on – you can purchase several permits through the site and compete against each other. At the end of the activity you will be able to see everyone who competed with you that same day on the leaderboard, and also see your ranking on the all-time overall leaderboard. After purchasing several permits you will receive an explanation by email and can easily send invitations to the team leaders so they can join the activity.

Where does the game start and end?

The game starts at the First Station complex in Jerusalem; you can park at Gan HaPa’amon right nearby. There are proper restrooms, restaurants and other attractions at the location, and it is also open on Fridays and Saturdays.
The game ends at the Mamilla Mall, from where you can continue to the Old City, wander around Mamilla or the city center, or easily return to your car.

  • After purchase, access to the game content opens for 14 days
  • The game questions can only be answered once
  • The activity is self-guided, meaning it is just you and all the information is on your phone
  • You can purchase a single permit and compete against everyone who has played the game before, or purchase several permits and compete against everyone playing the game together with you on the same day
  • An internet connection is required to run the activity
  • Please note! After purchase you will receive a link and a membership code for the game on our new platform called Spotix. It will appear after purchase and you will also receive a tidy email.
  • What is the difference between a quest / navigation game / treasure hunt? All these terms mean the same thing: an experiential adventure based on questions, riddles and missions.

Frequently asked questions about the tour

What is a self-guided tour?

A self-guided tour is a digital experience that lets you explore on the ground in your own time and at your own pace, without a physical guide. It's essentially a self-guided tour where the guidance is delivered through your phone as an audio guide, and includes audio, videos, texts, and live maps with GPS navigation that leads you between the stops.

How does navigation work during the tour?

Navigation uses GPS that shows your location in real time and guides you to the next stop. The tour works as part of a self-guided tour experience with an audio guide, so at each point you can play voice content that explains the place.

What happens after purchase?

After ordering, you'll immediately receive a link and access code to the tour system. Log in from your phone or tablet and start whenever it's convenient for you. The tour is available for 14 days from the moment the code is redeemed, so you can buy today and start later — the day count begins only then.

Do I need to download an app?

No app download needed. The system runs directly in the browser on any device — smartphone, tablet, or computer. An internet connection is required during the activity to play the audio guide, content, and maps. Several people can join together around a single device.

What's the difference between permits and participants in a team?

A permit = one group that goes on the tour. Participants = how many phones are connected together within that group. For example: a group of 20 people splitting into 4 groups of 5 needs 4 permits. For each permit you choose how many phones are connected together: if each group travels with 2 phones — choose 2 participants. If everyone is around one phone — choose 1. For a couple or trio traveling together — one permit with 1 to 2 participants is enough.
