Frequently asked questions
Everything worth knowing before you set out on a self-guided activity. Didn't find an answer? We're here.
A self-guided tour is a digital experience that lets you explore in your own time and at your own pace, with all the guidance coming straight from your mobile phone. It is essentially an audio guide (a self guided tour), where at every stop you will find videos, text, audio, live maps and detailed explanations that help you navigate and find your way with GPS.
Self-guided tours include stops with information and guidance, while games also add questions and missions you need to solve in order to earn points and progress.
You can turn a game into a competition by buying several permits. Each team gets its own permit, and the points a team earns during the game are updated on the activity leaderboard.

You can pay in whatever way is convenient for you: credit card, Bit, Google Pay or Apple Pay. With instant purchase the site processes the payment securely, and right after your order is confirmed you will receive by email a link and an access code (a membership code) to an interface called Spotix.app, where the activity actually takes place. The tour content is available to you for 14 days from the moment you redeem the code.
A permit is one group that goes on the tour. Participants are how many phones are connected together within that same group. For example, a group of 20 people that splits into 4 groups of 5 needs 4 permits. For each permit you choose how many phones are connected together: if each group travels with 2 phones, choose 2 participants. If everyone is around one phone, choose 1. For a couple or a trio traveling together, a single permit with 1 to 2 participants is enough.
At every stop there is a Navigate button that opens a map of the area. On the map you will see the destination and your own location in real time (GPS navigation), once you allow the site to use your location. There is also an address (street and number) and a written explanation of the way from your current point to the next one, and for some activities we even filmed the route to the destination.
The information about where the tour starts is in the first stop of the activity. As with every stop, you press the Navigate button and an organized map opens, and below it you will see exactly where to park and where the starting point is. You can also see the starting point before you buy, right here on the site. If you scroll down a little on the activity page, you will see a map, and below it the Start, Finish and Parking points are listed.

On a self-guided tour you move between the stops at your own pace, without a physical guide, and receive the guidance through your phone.
In practice it works like an audio guide: at each stop you play audio content with explanations, and move between the points using GPS navigation that shows you where you are and where to continue.
